    Product Development Engineering Leader: Specialty Chemicals / Minerals

    Product Development Engineering Leader: Specialty Chemicals / Minerals

    Support the improvement of new specialty chemicals / minerals products to meet customer demands in various industries.  Support optimization of process systems, manufacturing cost reduction and performance testing of new process equipment.  The strong candidate will have a BS in Chemical Engineering or Plastic Materials Engineering with 7+ years experience related to Plastic Engineering, Chemistry and / or Mineral Processing.  Experience with supervising staff is highly desirable.     Senior Mining Engineer

    Responsibilities include:
    • Develop mining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long range planning and production goals;
    • Direct engineering for: mine ventilation, ore conveyance, rock mechanics, budgetary recommendations and knowledge of mine safety rules and regulations;

    Automation & Controls Engineer - DCS and PLC

    Automation & Controls Engineer

    Oversee automation and controls including installation and programming of PLC and DCS systems and networking. Oversee maintenance and installation of analog and digital equipment. Design and improve HMI systems. In addition, maintains, tests and troubleshooting of industrial controls and automation equipment, machinery, and associated electrical and electronic controls through work with maintenance technicians.

     

    Responsibilities:

    ·        Troubleshoot and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

    ·        Writing and understanding programs with advanced PLC and DCS instructions such as PID, function blocks, advanced math, etc.

    ·        Perform screen development and modifications for HMI software.

    ·        Programming PLCs and DCSs.

    ·        Familiar with variable frequency drives (VFD) and servodrives.

    Plant Manager - Packaging

    ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER - Title V Knowledge Necessary

    Direct permitting and compliance including the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive environmental management system for the operations. This position provides the leadership and expertise to obtain permits from local, state and federal regulatory agencies.     Accountabilities

    ·        Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive management systems in support of the company Policy, Code of Conduct, and Commitment statement

    ·        Coordinates, monitors and evaluates the management system’s effectiveness; recommends appropriate corrective actions as required

    ·        Ensures compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

    ·        Keeps abreast of all current and pending regulations

    ·        Works closely with the Site Managers and employees at all levels to maintain a safe and healthy work environment

    ·        Conducts/coordinates accident investigations, with particular attention given to the identification of root causes and effective corrective actions

    ·        Maintains a database for all environmental permits at the sites

    ·        Submits applications for renewal, modification, and/or change to the site’s environmental permits

    ·        Determine the need for outside environmental consultants, and gains approval prior to contracting their services

    ·        Provides leadership and guidance to the individual plant safety committees

    ·        Coordinates/conducts training for all employees, contractors and site visitors; ensures proper training documentation and maintains training record files as indicated by company policy and regulatory requirements

    ·        Coordinates/conducts health and industrial hygiene monitoring activities

    ·        Job responsibilities may require travel to other company operations as defined

     

    Education/Experience/Skills

    ·        Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline and/or equivalent
    experience; bachelor’s degree preferred

    ·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy industry or related field

    ·        Skill in auditing/inspecting operations and company procedures

    ·        Ability to develop and implement effective strategies and management systems

    ·        Knowledge of financial and business analysis techniques

    ·        Strong background with UPDES/NPDES water permitting, sampling, reporting, and compliance; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) compliance

    ·        Experience to also include RCRA compliance and completing and submitting annual regulatory reports including TIER II, AEI, and TRI reports.  

    ·        Track record of timely follow-up and incident reporting and accurate collection and tracking of required data is essential.
