General Manager – (GM) - Aggregates
Company  : One of the Largest Global Producers of Key Products
Location   : Domestic U.S.
General Manager – (GM) -  Aggregates

Direct Production, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering for Surface Quarry, Processing and Load-Out facilities. Lead the effort to improve overall productivity and profitability. Solid track record mentoring and developing personnel.

Responsible for overall safe and efficient plant and quarry operations. This position is also responsible for coaching and developing subordinate staff.

Responsibilities Include:

•    Responsible for management of all operations personnel.
•    Responsible for oversight of Environmental, Health and Safety compliance through
     implementation and enforcement of all governmental regulations.
•    Responsible for administration and enforcement of Homeland Security
•    Control of operation costs in order to achieve budget.
•    Direct Managers in equipment maintenance and protection programs to maximize
      life expectancy of all hard assets.
•    Oversee customer satisfaction through producing and delivering on-time products in
      proper quantities, shipping and correct invoicing.
•    Implement long-term planning concepts, directives and goals as outlined by Senior

Corporate Management:

•    Responsible for employee compliance with all operations and plant operating
      policies and procedures.
•    Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and
      coordination with Company personnel and management.

The Ideal Background Would Include:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mine Engineering preferred.
•    MBA preferred but not required.
•    5+ years of management experience.
•    10+ years of aggregates/mining industry experience.
•    Proven track record of leadership, productivity improvement, profitability and
      personnel development while maintaining site Health, Safety and Environmental
      standards

Safety Manager -- Manufacturing
Company  : Our client is known for its continual financial growth and respect for employees
Location   : Western U.S.
Responsible for coordinating and leading the safety programs at the company’s manufacturing facilities and provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of company safety programs, including:
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and corporate policies;
  • Responsible for management of the Safety and Health Management Program (SHMP), and associated training programs to assure compliance safety and health regulations and guidelines; and
  • Responsible for the implementation of Pro-Active Safety Programs such as Behavior Based Safety.

Accountabilities: 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, and training program in support of Company SHMP Policies;
  • Ensure compliance with Division and Corporate SHMP policies, programs, standards, procedures, and other (OSHA) regulatory requirements;
  • Conduct on-site reviews and supports audits of operations and facilities;
  • Work with site resources to implement SHMP standards and has the ability to plan ahead for pending regulations;
  • Assist with setting SHMP Targets & Objectives and provides guidance for attainment;
  • Work closely with the Site Managers, department managers, employees at all levels, and contractors to maintain a safe and healthy work place;
  • Develop and implement accident investigation techniques, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures. Ensures accidents, incidents, near misses and other non-conformances are properly rated and appropriately input into the CIRS database;
  • Lead and assist with incident investigations and ensure the appropriate levels of corrective actions are implemented;
  • Assure the SHMP Management System is effective and efficient and updated as needed for continual improvement;
  • Coordinate employee and contractor training to understand their role in support of health and safety and regulatory requirements, including job hazard analysis (JHA) and process safety management (PSM);
  • Achieve and maintain the corporate and industry safety metrics, such as TRIR and EMR ratings consistent or better than industry benchmarks;
  • Assist Emergency Response Teams and respond to potential plant emergencies and planning;
  • Professionally represent the company with regulatory agencies regarding OSHA regulatory compliance and develop a good working relationship with regulators to formulate effective corrective actions;
  • Assist with the development of the annual safety budget and properly administer expenditures;
  • Manage worker compensation claim process and implements a Divisional Case Management program;
  • Assure compliance with health and safety aspects of Contractor Management Program; and
  • Participate in the annual Sites management review process.

Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline;
  • CSP preferred;
  • Strong safety background, safety program development and implementation, process/program audits, extensive customer interaction, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, able to work independently to plan, create, & implement, critical thinking skills / good judgment, and willingness to be on-call for emergency response; and
  • Extensive OSHA experience in manufacturing.
